Time to get creative!

Posted on 01 April 2022

April is traditionally Art month for our libraries, but due to current restrictions we're looking to inspire creativity at home.

If you're a puzzle fan, then there's nothing worse than a jigsaw with a missing piece. So we're putting our boxes of jigsaws with missing pieces to good use.

Open to all ages, we invite you to create a piece of Jigsaw Art. It can be flat or freestanding. It can also use other materials as the base.

The total prize pool is $200 in vouchers to be won.

Artwork will be judged by guest artists in Te Awamutu and Cambridge.

With the school holidays and ANZAC Day approaching, this month's Off the Page challenge is to create a poppy or artwork honouring the men and women of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

The contributing pieces will be added to an exhibition that will be visited by a Brigadeer and Colonel in Cambridge Library on the morning of Friday 22 April. Children are invited to come along and meet them and share in an ANZAC biscuit or two.
