Libraries reopen

Posted on 25 May 2020

After being closed for nine weeks our Waipā District Council’s libraries are set to reopen on Monday 25 May.

It has been a busy time for staff during the closure. As well as cataloguing and processing numerous new books, staff have been able to stocktake each of our collections.

While we will be open to patrons from Monday, our top priority is to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff so we ask that you work with us and adhere to restrictions which will be in place.

  • Maximum numbers will apply in both libraries with a one out one in policy thereafter.
  • Time in the libraries is not to exceed 20 minutes.
  • Patrons will be asked to complete a contact tracing register before entry.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided prior to entry.
  • Physical distancing must be maintained.
  • Books are to be returned via the after hours returns only.

A short video of what to expect is accessible via our Facebook page

There is also an FAQs page to refer to for questions.

Our libraries are open weekdays 9am to 5pm.

Please note that normal charging for eResources has resumed.
