This is a true story from the early 1900s in Australia. The husband and wife are found dead lying next to each other in an upstairs room in their house. They have four children at the time.

It’s not quite the narrative that you expect. In fact it’s more about life in that era, about the investigation of crime, similar instances, the lifestyles of people at the time and values and the last part of the book is devoted to what in fact happened to the children, and a latter eerily related crime.

Both houses mentioned in the book are still standing in Sydney.

From the author of the Suitcase baby.
