The seven or eight deaths of Stella Fortuna

18 September 2019
Written by: Juliet Grames
Review by: Dee Atkinson
Genre: General Fiction

This is a debut novel from American author Juliet Grames. Stella’s name means lucky star, but her life story is anything but!

Stella does indeed escape death time and time again, and so the story goes.

The story follows her life which spans the move from Italy to the US during WWII, family secrets, the estranged relationship with her sister and her father, home truths and finally answers.

The story is told from the perspective of the granddaughter and is based around the author’s own family.

It is a good read for those into family sagas.
