Genre: General Fiction

An historical novel set in 1399, based on real characters of the time. Lady Despenser is part of the House of York.

It’s a dysfunctional family and she’s surrounded by power hungry men including her husband and brothers.

They plot against King Henry IV and want to restore King Richard II to the throne or someone else to safeguard their own political power.

She is a woman ahead of her time.

It’s a story not only of political intrigue and treason, but love and heartache.

There is an afterward which spells out the fates of the main characters and also reference to the buildings referred to in the novel.

Will be loved by readers of Alison Weir, Philippa Gregory and the like.
