What's on March!

Posted on 27 February 2020

Following a highly successful Heritage month, March focuses on authors and publishing.

Ocean Reeve Publishing is touring New Zealand in March and is coming to Waipā prior to releasing Lisa Tamati's new book Relentless. Our libraries will be hosting the free 2 hour seminars in both locations. The seminar covers the publishing industry, how to publish in this new era, audiobooks, book distribution and marketing along with a step-by-step process in how to realise that vision of becoming a published author.

Local authors will also be sharing their knowledge at two presentation style workshops in Cambridge. Former Journalist Trudi Caffell will share how she got started and her journey into self-publishing. And Julie Thomas will share her writing tips in 'I have a novel in me'. Julie will provide practical advice on plotting, pacing, characters and dialogue and how to end!

Both presentations are also included in the programme for the Cambridge Autumn Festival.

For our younger audiences, Te Awamutu Library will host a special Te Reo Singalong Show with author Sharon Holt in what will be another highlight for the month and is sure to delight children in attendance.

Anyone interested in attending any of the publishing workshops or classes is invited to register via the event links here.

An 'Art with Books' competition is also be held throughout the month: click here for more details.
