Virtual programming in Level 2

Posted on 21 September 2021

Programming continues in our libraries during Alert Level 2, but allbeit in the virtual space.

Term time children's programmes are available virtually on a Tuesday and Thursday as per original schedules and in addition, thanks to LIANZA (Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa) and the Coalition for Books NZ, virtual stortyimes are also available on the weekends.

The October school holiday programme will consist of a booklet for children to work on from home. Some activities will also be available online. Copies can be collected from Thursday, 30 September.

Next Tuesday, 28 September, join us for a virtual jam session with the Kihikihi Ukulele Club (details below). While we will be unable to recreate the atmosphere from the NZ Music Month event in May, we are still looking forward to the gettogether.

There are also two competitions currently running:

Images of Spring (for children): click here
Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori Quiz (for all ages): click here. (Login, choose student, enter the name on your library card, select WAIPALIBRARIES.) Prize is a copy of Scotty Morrison's Māori made easy.
