Programmes, events and hours update

Posted on 04 September 2020

The Government has announced that the current alert levels will remain in place until at least 11.59pm on Wednesday 16 September.

A number of library events had previously been rescheduled and our inhouse children's programmes have been on hold. Our opening hours have also been restricted.

Our libraries will now reopen on a Saturday from Saturday 12 September, 9.30am to 1pm.

To create some certainty around children's programmes, these will recommence in the week beginning 12 October at the earliest. This includes Wriggle n Rhyme, Toddler Time and Makerspace.

The Kim King Disaster on Four Small Paws event has been rescheduled for November. Film Club 2020 sadly has now been cancelled and will be on the calendar for 2021.

New events including Make Give Live, Manuka Honey Standards Demystified and Get Active 2020 will still go ahead but with restrictions. The October School Holiday programme will be held virtually, with materials packs available from collection from the libraries from Monday 21 September.

Numbers will be limited for Manuka Honey Standards Demystified and registration is required. Inhouse events associated with Get Active 2020 are currently scheduled from late September, but may be postponed. Participating events external to the library will still take place.

Art Therapy Workshops for Children with Cass Hendry may be postponed. Those registered will be contacted should any changes occur.

Further details and dates are available from our events page.

Please note that events may still be postponed or rescheduled at short notice. If in doubt, please contact your library.
