Libraries closed until further notice

Posted on 23 March 2020

Following the prime minister’s announcement that New Zealand is now at COVID-19 Alert Level 2, Waipā District Council’s libraries will be closed effective Monday 23 March.

The move comes as a precaution to slow the spread of COVID-19 by promoting social distancing where possible.

The Te Awamutu and Cambridge libraries will be closed until further notice.

During this time all items currently on issue and due back during the closure will automatically have their due dates extended to ensure no one is fined during this time.

The afterhours slot at both libraries will be closed from Monday, please if you have library items out keep them at home until notified differently.

All items currently on hold for patrons will be suspended until the libraries re-open. Due to the closure a block on all holds on physical items will be introduced.

During the library closures the libraries eResources will continue to be available 24/7 for patrons to use. For those that are unsure on how to use these resources library staff are working on video tutorials to help. These are now available here (click here).
