COVID-19 Protection Framework - Red setting

Posted on 23 January 2022

New Zealand is moving to the red traffic light setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework from 11.59pm, Sunday 23 January. Our libraries will be open but with restrictions in place.

Numbers inside the libraries will be limited to 30 in both Cambridge and Te Awamutu. Time restrictions may apply to visits if maximum numbers are reached.

There are no changes to our opening hours, which are currently 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 1pm Saturdays. Term time programmes which were set to resume in Term 1 will be affected. There will be no in-house Toddler Time, Wriggle n Rhyme, Lego Club or Makerspace scheduled at this stage. Online programming will continue to be held in their place or other options offered.

No in-house events will take place until further notice, but online/virtual events will be held. There will be no finale parties for Ride the Reading Bus School Holiday Summer Reading Programme, but take away bags will be made available for children who have successfully completed the programme.

Digital learning in-house will be on hold, but classes can be held remotely. Skinny Jump broadband can also be applied for remotely. Vaccine pass help will continue to be made available with social distancing restrictions.

Remote services for patrons unable to enter our facilities will remain in place. For a reminder of the services available, click here.

Please stay safe, and remember to stay home if you are feeling unwell.
