We're celebrating the International Day of Older Persons with a Ride the Raceway event which is kindly supported by Cambridge Raceway.
The event is for push/pedal bikes (including eBikes), starts at 11.30am and will allow riders to ride around the Cambridge Raceway circuit for as many times as they feel comfortable up to a 30 minute timeframe.
The event is aimed at riders 60 years and older but younger persons may attend - in particular any grandchildren who are on school holidays to support their grandparents. Please be reminded this is not a race, it is an opportunity to ride the race track circuit in a safe environment in amongst other like-minded riders.
By registering to attend, you agree that you are of a reasonable level of fitness to cycle around the track and that your equipment (push/pedal/e bike) is in good working order. You are also required to wear a helmet and enclosed footwear. Please also bring a bottle of water. Other safety items are optional.
Tea and coffee will be provided. There may even be a special guest or two!
The International Day of Older Persons is celebrated each year. This year it falls on Sunday 1 October.
Evo Cycles Cambridge will be in attendance.
First aid assitance will be available should it be required.
Ride the Raceway is part of Waipā District Libraries Get Active campaign which runs until December. We appreciate the support of Cambridge Raceway.
Event will be postponed in the event of bad weather. Those registered will be contacted in this event.
