Books Alive Special Event - Egg & Spoon

LIANZA (Library and Information Association of New Zealand) and the New Zealand Book Awards Trust are bringing together another year of Books Alive online events and virtual storytimes.

Waipā District Libraries have been chosen again as hosts.

Egg & Spoon, an illustrated cookbook, is a finalist in the Elsie Locke Award for Non-Fiction.

Support our event through your participation! We want to engage all our Waipā tamariki who love to cook!

Tamariki are invited to cook a recipe from the book and join the Zoom event with their recipe or a picture of it. You must register via this link to EventBrite to attend the Zoom meeting. And even if you haven't made a recipe you can still attend!

Tamariki will be invited to talk to the author, Alexandra Tylee, about what they have cooked or ask any questions about Egg & Spoon.

All children (who live in the Waipā District) and send in a photo of their finished recipe via email have the opportunity to win a copy of Egg & Spoon, which must be collected from one of the Waipā District Libraries (Cambridge or Te Awamutu). Entries need to be received by no later than Friday 6 August (which will give attendees who cook their recipe for the Zoom event) a chance to take a photo and send it in.

Copies of Egg & Spoon are on display near the counters in our libraries. These are currently not available for loan, so that they may be used to photocopy or photograph recipes for all children wishing to take part.
